Types of Vines
White Wines:
Riesling
Called the queen of the whites, it is the most important white wine grape in the world.
The best results to grow Riesling are achieved in cooler regions, as the grapes need time to ripen. Lovers of wine, count the steep vineyards of the Moselle region as some of the best Riesling plants worldwide.
In 1787 Prince Clemens Wenceslaus of Saxony proclaimed that in his territories only Riesling was allowed to be cultivated. Therefore the Moselle region became the biggest Riesling cultivation area in the world.
